Focus on Women's & Health and Vitality

Women's health is a journey that evolves through every stage of life. From the teenage years and reproductive health to pregnancy, motherhood, perimenopause and beyond, every woman deserves care that is personalised, compassionate and centred on her individual needs.

Acupuncture has been used for centuries as part of traditional Chinese medicine and many women choose to include it alongside their broader healthcare to support their overall wellbeing. Every treatment is tailored to you, taking the time to understand your health history, current concerns and wellness goals.

Women commonly seek acupuncture as part of their health care for support with:

  • Painful periods (dysmenorrhoea)
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
  • Irregular or absent menstrual cycles
  • Premenstrual symptoms (PMS)
  • Endometriosis
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Hormonal health and menstrual cycle wellbeing
  • Preparing for pregnancy and fertility care
  • Pregnancy wellbeing and common pregnancy discomforts
  • Postpartum recovery and support
  • Perimenopause and menopause
  • Stress, fatigue, sleep and emotional wellbeing as they relate to women's health

Your care begins with a comprehensive consultation to develop an individualised treatment plan that reflects your unique health story. Treatment may include acupuncture, along with lifestyle and dietary guidance where appropriate, with the aim of supporting your overall wellbeing and helping you feel more balanced throughout the different stages of life.

We believe the best outcomes come from collaborative care. Acupuncture is provided as part of a holistic approach to health and is designed to complement the care you receive from your GP, specialist or other healthcare providers.

Whether you are seeking support for your menstrual health, navigating hormonal changes or simply looking to prioritise your wellbeing, our focus is on providing thoughtful, evidence-informed care in a calm, welcoming environment where you feel heard, supported and cared for

What’s TCM?

Traditional Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a system of health care with a long history of use. It takes a whole-person approach and considers many aspects of wellbeing, including lifestyle, diet, rest, and emotional health. Treatment may involve acupuncture and other traditional therapies such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, massage, and herbal medicine.

What’s 5 Element Acupuncture?

5 Element Acupuncture is a traditional style of acupuncture that explores your constitutional pattern through the five elements: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood. This approach is designed to support greater self-awareness and may help you better understand the patterns that influence your health and wellbeing.

By working with your constitutional element, treatment can support a more grounded and balanced sense of self. Many people find this style of acupuncture offers space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their body and inner experience.

Acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of very fine needles at selected points on the body. Sessions are often calm and restorative, giving you time to rest, breathe, or simply settle while treatment takes place.

Extras- Add on to your session:

Release and Transform Tapping

This add-on combines your 5 Element session with meridian tapping and coaching. It is designed to support reflection around emotional patterns, stress, and personal wellbeing as part of your consultation.

Chinese Massage & Acupressure

This Chinese massage, also known as Tui Na, and acupressure may be included in your 5 Element Acupuncture initial consultation, follow-up, or combined therapies session where appropriate. These techniques use hands-on pressure, stretching, and stimulation of traditional acupuncture points and meridians.

What’s Next
As your treatment progresses, sessions may focus on ongoing support, nourishment, and maintaining your sense of balance and wellbeing over time.

Relax and Release Chinese Massage

and Acupuncture

Chinese massage, also known as Tui Na, is a therapeutic form of massage deeply rooted in traditional Chinese medicine principles. It involves applying rhythmic pressure, stretching, and manipulation techniques to specific acupoints and meridians on the body. Acupressure, on the other hand, involves applying pressure to these same acupoints, often using fingers, palms, or specialized tools, to stimulate the body's natural healing processes and restore balance to the flow of Qi, or vital energy.

Both Chinese massage and acupressure offer a range of benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. They can help alleviate muscular tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety levels. By targeting specific acupoints and meridians, these techniques can also address various health concerns, such as pain management, digestive issues, insomnia, and menstrual irregularities.

Overall, the combination of massage and acupuncture offers holistic support for the body's innate ability to heal and maintain balance, promoting overall health and vitality.

Perimenopause and Menopause Transition

Holistic Support with Acupuncture, Herbs & Tapping

Perimenopause and menopause are natural, powerful transitions – not problems to “fix”. In Chinese medicine, this time is understood as a shift in Jing (deep vitality), Blood and Yin, as your body redirects energy from fertility toward wisdom, consolidation and renewal. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we look at the whole pattern – sleep, digestion, mood, stress, cycle changes and how you move through daily life.

Early Autumn of Life: Perimenopause

In the Five Element and seasonal framework, perimenopause is the “early Autumn” of life – a time to turn inward, gather your harvest and release what you no longer need. Themes of this phase include clearer boundaries, reassessing priorities, and reconnecting with your core values.

Common experiences in perimenopause may include:

  • Sleep changes, night sweats
  • Hot flushes and temperature shifts
  • Irregular, heavier or lighter periods
  • Anxiety, irritability, low mood or emotional sensitivity
  • Brain fog, fatigue, feeling “not like yourself”
  • Changes in libido, digestion, joint and muscle tension

Menopause & Beyond: Late Autumn into Winter

Menopause and the years beyond can be seen as “late Autumn” moving toward “Winter” – the gateway into the Crone years. This phase often highlights completion, simplification, and reclaiming time and energy for what truly matters.

Common post-menopausal concerns may include:

  • Ongoing hot flushes or night sweats
  • Sleep and energy changes
  • Vaginal dryness and discomfort
  • Joint aches, stiffness, metabolic shifts
  • Mood changes, memory and concentration difficulties

How Chinese Medicine May Support You

Acupuncture
Acupuncture aims to gently regulate and support:

  • Nervous system and emotional balance
  • Sleep and temperature changes
  • Digestion, fluid balance and circulation
  • Muscle, joint and tension-related discomfort

Treatments are tailored to your unique constitution, history and current presentation.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
Individualised herbal formulas may help:

  • Nourish Yin and Blood
  • Steady Heart and Liver systems (mood, stress, emotional flow)
  • Support sleep, energy and overall resilience

Formulas are adjusted over time as your body and symptoms change.

Tapping (EFT)
Tapping can be a supportive tool for:

  • Processing grief, anger, fear or uncertainty
  • Softening old stories around ageing and worth
  • Cultivating self-compassion and inner safety

Together, acupuncture, herbs and tapping offer an integrated way to move through perimenopause, menopause and beyond feeling more informed, supported and connected to your body.
